Synergy, Alliance and a Better Future
The 1st National Taiwan University and University of Tsukuba Joint Faculty Conference
Feb. 21st – 22nd, 2014, Taipei
Dear participants and colleagues:
On behalf of the coordinating and organizing committee, we cordially invite you to attend the “The 1st National Taiwan University and University of Tsukuba Joint Faculty Conference” on Feb. 21st and 22nd, 2014 at Taipei, Taiwan. National Taiwan University is honored to host this joint conference and delighted to welcome to ~ 50 delegates from University of Tsukuba.
Both National Taiwan University and University of Tsukuba are elite members of the Association of East Asia Research Universities (AEARU). We have thus built up a great foundation for education cooperation and research collaboration between two universities, such as the long-distance courses and mini-symposia. Over the celebration of the 40th + 101st anniversary at University of Tsukuba last October, delegates from both universities have agreed to create this synergy meeting mutually beneficial to both for the better future.
Our goal for this joint conference is simple, but bold: Synergy, Alliance and a Better Future. This conference aims to strengthen and extend multidisciplinary academic cooperation for the development of global human resources. We would like to provide and foster a positive environment for faculty to meet and discuss to stimulate the desired collaborations as well as to exchange the word of knowledge and innovation. To achieve this goal, two plenary sections in the education and research cooperation (in the afternoon, Feb, 21st) and three specific parallel sections (Feb. 22nd) have been planned.
This is a landmark event and this meeting will certainly become a reference, as we will be celebrating the success of our 7-year cooperation and honoring the coming graduation of our 1st Dual-Degree Master student. Notably, we have a great line-up of keynote speakers including:
(I) Global Education – Learning without Boarders
(II) Translational and Personalized Medicine
(III) Green Energy – Using the Oil-producing Algae as an Example
(IV) HAL suits, Robot and Automation Controls
In addition, specific sections, including “Humanities and Social Sciences”, “Life and Agriculture Sciences”, and “Medicine and Global Health”, are designed to create the better human resources.
Here, we also look forward to welcoming you to the attractive and modern city of Taipei and encourage you to evaluate the conference as an opportunity to update your knowledge, explore the unfamiliar, to discover a great deal of collaborations in the process and as an important window into the world of the future. We will be honored with the presence of everyone and look forward to welcoming you with warmest greetings to Taipei. For more details, please check the official website: http://ntu-ut2014.weebly.com
